Ricks Surprise 50th Harley Ride

Rick was so surprised. He thought he was playing in a Golf tourney with the Marshall Brothers. We get there and they hand him a Harley B.D. card ~ still didn't get it ~ then they give us each a Harley T-Shirt ~ Still doesn't get it! Tammy had to tell him, and until he walked outside and saw the bikes and Jim handed him his chaps, I still don't think he thought it was real! What a blast! We went from Rock Springs around Flaming Gorge and back to Rock Springs on the other side of the Gorge through Manilla. Beautiful! We got rained on just a little. We only had a few LITTLE minor oops. We had to make a u-turn~not the easiest thing on a big Harley ~ the guys were all laughing and Rick was looking off at something else in Vernal and looked up and the light had turned yellow, instead of going on through ~ he panicks and locks em up. It brought me right up off the seat and I slammed into his back standing up. It was pretty funny. Al was behind us and saw the whole thing! Rick just shrugged his shoulders and on we went!

Wow! It's been a long time since I posted. Our pc has had issues. Cody and Amber had their baby on June 9, 2009. 5 lbs. 12 oz. Ruger Cody Ardell Merritt. Yes, Cody named him after his gun and Amber gave him his middle name after his daddy. They make the cutest little family. Will get some pix on here of him. Ryan and Sara and family are dying of the heat at their place. They visit most evenings to feel the air conditioning! We love seeing the kids, good thing they only live a few blocks away. Rick and Ryan have been remodeling Saras parents kitchen over in Arimo. They are about done. Rick had a bit of an incounter with a new carpet blade in his knife. An E.R. visit and 1/2 day later he has a huge bandage on his left index finger and many stitches. He goes back to the Dr. tues to see if it too. If not they will have to do a skin graft. He hopes it is all healed up by then! Right! Melissa and Dusty are both working at Hunzeker Cheverlet in Soda Springs. Dusty is a great car salesman and Melissa answers the phone and does their rentals. She is working to get her medical transcriptionist degree and is working a few weekends for Med Ex doing exams(drawing blood ect. for life ins.policys.) I am working 3 jobs at the moment, but that is going to have to change. it was 4 jobs but i am done doing hair first week of Aug. and will just be at "The National Oregon/California Trail Center" and at Dr. Wolffs helping with the weight loss diet "HCG"! Ya HCG, I lost 40 lbs since Nov. and have kept it off! Feel so much better. Well enough said! Take Care

It was originally a milking barn, but the owners's remodeled it into the cuteest apartment. Out in the middle of nowhere. It is so pretty out there. A river runs alomg behind their house and lots of wide open spaces to 4-wheel,hunt and fish.

Couch to 5K !

Ok, I think I want to run again. Because of an illness and the $100,000 brain episode, I have either not been able to run or scared to run. Jamy and Judy have been walking/running the 5K's in Caribou County for a few years. The last time I walked with them, I was about the last one over the finish line. I did not feel good. Well, here I come 5K. I am trying to download the "couch to 5K program on an mp3 player but having issues with computer. Ronda took Melissa's old Ipod to Pocatello to get a new battery put in it. Hopefully it will work and I can get the program. It is a Podcast that has everything you need to run a 5K in 7,8, or 9 weeks time. We'll see! Go to http://www.c25k.com/ to check out the program! I was reading the Ensign's General Conference issue today. Pres. Uchtdorf's talk on Hope touched me. Maybe it will you too!

"Hope is one leg of a three-legged stool, together with faith and charity. These three stabilize our lives regardless of the rough or uneven surfaces we might encounter at the time. The scriptures are clear and certain about the importance of hope. The Apostle Paul taught that the scriptures were written to the end that we might have hope.

Hope has the power to fill our lives with happiness. Its absence - when this desire of our heart is delayed - can make "the heart sick."

Hope is a gift of the Spirit. It is a hope that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power of his Resurrection, we shall be raised unto life eternal and this because of our faith in the Savior. ........ Hope in our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness leads to peace, mercy, rejoicing and gladness. The hope of salvation is like a protective helmet; it is the foundation of our faith and an anchor to our souls."

I underlined the word "peace." It is an important thing for me, myself to feel an inner Peace. We live in a crazy world and having hope gets us through it!

Halloween 2008

The grand kids usually go to Arimo for Halloween, but decided to stay here this year. Our ward had Trunk or Treat and so I decided to dress up with them . There were so many people, it was great fun! Of course I am the fat ugly witch! Lukas is a horse, Gracee a princess and Axton a Vampire, papa sprayed Axton's black hairspray in his beard and said his costume was a "younger him". No Grey! I like the grey, makes him looks handsome.
